The Annual Miami Beach Gay Pride Festival and Parade, Sky Hi Since 2012

MIAMI BEACH GAY PRIDE :
APRIL 2012 – PRESENT
Sky Hi Productions has been assisting the production of major community based events related to Miami Beach Gay Pride since 2012.  We have coordinatied with various teams to execute the envisioned yearly concept of the festival and the parade and serving as the conduit between essential bars, bartenders, business, charities, foundations and revelers both local and tourist.

Miami Beach Gay Pride is an extraordinary three-day event that features a Beach Party and a Festival & Parade with more than 125 LGBT-friendly vendors and businesses, exciting celebrities, musical performances, refreshments, food and a family-friendly play area.

Since its inception in 2009, Miami Beach Gay Pride has grown from a neighborhood event to an event on the global stage with A-list celebrities such as Mario Lopez, Elvis Duran, Iggy Azalea, Jordin Sparks, Gloria Estefan and Adam Lambert. Attendance has grown as well. An estimated 15,000 spectators turned out for the first Pride parade in 2009; an estimated 130,000 attended the event in 2016. In addition to Parade spectators, last April’s event included more than 70 parade contingencies, 35 floats and 3,000 participants.

This isn’t the usual fundraiser; it’s a fight for the future of our democracy—it’s a night of “hope and action” and also a great party. All funds will go to three organizations already working towards these goals:
Americans for Immigrant Justice
SAVE
and Planned Parenthood.

“As one of the first major LGBT film festivals of the year, the Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival (MGLFF) sets the tone for the entire LGBT film festival circuit and this year will prove to be no exception”, said Mark Gilbert, president and executive director of the festival.
The 17th Annual event promises new innovations and experiences for film goers as well as a return to some iconic favorites, he said. The 17th Annual MGLFF will run April 24 to May 3, 2015 at venues throughout Miami Beach, including the Colony Theatre, Miami Beach Cinematheque and RegalCinemas South Beach Stadium 18 Movie Theater.

“While at its heart, the Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival is all about queer cinema that’s of interest to our community and our allies; however, it really is more than that,” Gilbert said. “This festival is truly our community’s social and cultural gathering spot. It’s a place where we can come together and celebrate our unique spirit and the bonds of our friendships through the medium of film.”
New for 2015, SHOWTIME® has signed on as a presenting sponsor of MGLFF, Gilbert added.
The 17th Annual Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival is expected to feature more than 60 films from the U.S. and countries across the globe, including feature-length movies, documentaries and short films that chronicle the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender experience. Anticipated in the line-up will be a mix of world premieres, North American premieres, U.S. premieres, East Coast premieres, and Southeast premieres.
Beyond the celluloid, MGLFF is all about social events as only Miami knows how to throw a party, Gilbert said. The popular Prelude party, the official kick-off for the festival, will be held for Producers Circle members on April 18th and will be presented by Merrill Lynch. Producers Circle members are individuals and couples who pledge between $1,000 and $10,000 to support the festival year-round.
